Health Workforce Improvement Program (HWIP)
Project Description:
The overall goal of this program is to address critical human resources challenges in Ethiopia’s health sector and improve the quality of Ethiopia’s health workforce.
Consortium members
HWIP is designed to address three broad result areas:
Result 1
Competency of the health workforce improved
Result 2
Health workforce management and regulation capacity improved
Result 3
Evidence-based decision making institutionalized
EMwA focused on Result 1- Competency of the health workforce improved; this will be achieved by:
1.1- Improve Pre-Service Education (PSE) quality
1.2- Strengthen regulation of higher education institutions (HEIs) and
1.3– Institutionalize system for providing and monitoring in-service Training and continuing professional development (CPD)
