My name is Tenagnework Dilnessa, and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Midwifery at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Wollo University, Ethiopia. I hold an MSc in Clinical Midwifery from the University of Gondar and have over ten years of experience teaching midwifery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My academic journey is grounded in a strong commitment to maternal and newborn health, quality education, and lifelong learning.
In addition to my academic role, I bring a solid clinical background from working in hospital settings, which has provided me with a deep understanding of local cultural contexts and healthcare systems. I am also actively engaged in research, particularly in maternal and child health, and regularly contribute to scholarly publications and peer review activities.
I have extensive experience in blended online training programs aimed at strengthening the capacity of maternal and child health professionals. In May 2024, I earned a certificate from a program organized by the Swedish government and further advanced my expertise through Midwize project a quality improvement initiative funded by the Swedish Institute which I coordinated in Ethiopia during 2023–2025. I am also a certified Trainer of Trainers (ToT) for the Master Online Class, with credentials from Arizona State University.
Currently, I am a PhD fellow in Medical Science at Karolinska Institutet, within the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. I also serve as a board member of the Ethiopian Midwives Association, where I advocate for professional development and improved healthcare delivery.
