Effectiveness of simulation-based cesarean section education on improving non-physician clinician midwives competency in Ethiopia

Description of the Project

A mixed-method study will be employed in four universities of Ethiopia. A cluster-randomized trial supplemented with a qualitative design will be implemented. Participants’ cesarean section competency will be assessed using the Objective Structured Assessment of Technical Skills tool after validation. For the qualitative part, clinical midwifery trainees, educators, and relevant stakeholders will be interviewed to explore the feasibility and acceptability of simulation-based education.

Expected output:

The effect of the MamaBirthie CS simulator on non-physician clinician midwives’ competency will be documented. Furthermore, gaps and contextual areas of intervention will be identified by this project.
